The 2022 GMC Acadia has made several changes from last year’s model. For one, the SLE is the new base model after cutting the SL from the lineup. Also, a turbocharged 2.0-liter four-cylinder and a 3.6-liter V6 are the new available engines for the 2022 model year.
A bevy of driver-assistance features now come standard across the board for the 2022 lineup, including automated emergency braking, lane-keeping assist, and blind-spot monitoring. The two new 18” and 20” wheel models and a brand-new color option—Light Stone Metallic—are offered as elective elements as well.
What’s Under the Hood?
As we said, the 2022 GMC Acadia’s base engine is a turbocharged 2.0-liter four-cylinder that puts out 228 horsepower as well as the optional 3.6-liter V6 that produces 310 horsepower. A nine-speed automatic transmission and front-wheel drive come standard for either engine, and all-wheel drive is an optional amenity.
An adaptive suspension—standard on the Denali and optional on SLT trim with all-wheel drive—adjusts the dampers every two milliseconds to help smooth out the ride over bumps or to tighten things up if the driving ever gets too loose or unsafe.
