Used or Certified Pre-Owned?

You have two types of vehicles to choose from when looking for a non-new car: used cars and Certified Pre-Owned (CPO) models. We’re going over the advantages each offer so you can figure out which is right for you.

Why Buy a Used Vehicle?

If you’re looking for the most affordable option when buying a Buick Encore or any other model, a used car is the best choice. Compared to a new car, buying used will save you a substantial amount of money.

And if you plan to finance, this means you may not need a very large down payment, and your monthly payments can be very reasonable. With a trade-in car, you can cut your costs even more.

Another reason to consider a used car is to avoid depreciation, which can really affect a new vehicle in its first four years. You’ll also have a much larger inventory to pick from, with a variety of makes, models, and years available.

Why Buy a CPO Vehicle?

A CPO model is as close to new as you can get without actually being new. At most, these vehicles are six years old and have 75,000 miles on the odometers.

They undergo a rigorous 172-point inspection and have to pass a road test. They also come with warranty coverage.

You’ll have a 6-year/100,000-mile Extended Powertrain warranty, as well as a 12-month/12,000-mile Limited warranty. You will also get 24-hour emergency roadside assistance and free trials of both SiriusXM® satellite radio and OnStar® services.

Which Choice is the Right One?

To determine whether a used GMC or a CPO model is the better choice, the first thing you will want to think about is your budget. If you don’t have a lot to spend, a used vehicle is probably the best move.

At Joseph Buick GMC, we always have a lot of used cars in stock, including a special inventory of models priced under $15,000. If you’re looking for warranty coverage, it makes sense to go with a CPO vehicle.
