FIVE QUESTIONS TO ASK WHEN BUYING A USED CAR

The professionals at Joseph Buick GMC are no strangers to the trials and tribulations of finding the right car. That’s why we want to keep you informed to make the process as simple as possible for you.
When it comes to buying used cars in particular, there are a few special considerations you’re going to want to make.
1. What is the Condition?
With any pre-owned vehicle, you’ll want to consider its age, mileage, and overall condition. To determine if it’s a good deal or the right fit, you’ll need to weigh those factors against the price and how that fits into your overall budget.
2. Is it Certified?
Some models are certified pre-owned which comes with extra warranty coverage as well as sometimes complimentary services, roadside assistance, and other perks. If the same model is available both CPO and non-CPO, you can be sure the CPO version is almost always the better buy.
3. Do I Want to Finance?
Coming back around to that idea of budget, you’ll want to know if you plan on financing, and if you do, how much you are eligible for. If you would rather pay out of pocket, you’ll have to look at models that you can afford right now without financing.
4. Does it Have a History Report?
With many used cars, we can look up a history report which can give insight into any accidents it was in, as well as maintenance history sometimes. This can give you an idea of the car’s overall condition aside from its looks.
5. How Long Will I Drive it?
When looking at the “like new” to “high mileage” spectrum and everything in between, you might consider how the current condition will hold up and affect the longevity of your investment.
