How to Make Your GMC Parts Last

July 20th, 2022 by

At Joseph Buick GMC, we believe in helping our customers get the most out of their vehicles. In order to make sure your car is in tip-top shape for the long haul, you’ll need to pay attention to the wear and tear on your GMC parts.

Here is a list of ways to make sure your car’s parts last as long as possible.

Battery Maintenance

If you know you might not need to drive every day, keep an eye on your battery’s charge. If it degrades and goes flat, you’ll require multiple jumpstarts. This puts a real strain on all the parts involved with starting up your engine.

Make sure to drive your car at least once a week to keep the battery at an optimum charge.

Change Your Filters

Maintain a regular service schedule when it comes to your filters. Keep changing your oil and air filters at regular intervals. In a pinch, you can also clean your air filter yourself to hold you over — but you should schedule replacement sooner than later.

Be sure to use genuine GMC parts, however. Steer clear of cheap, low-quality filters, as they can wear out too fast and cause damage.

Regular Air Conditioning Service

Believe it or not, using your air conditioning regularly can actually save you money over time. Your car’s AC is more efficient than driving with your windows down. Over time, some leakage is fairly normal, so keep an eye on it to avoid driving in stifling heat.

However, leaving it off far too long can mean you’ll end up re-gassing the whole unit. This can be a pricey and easily avoided expense.
